這款免費軟體提供三種取回密碼和序號的方式：
- Automatic recovery (自動取回)：自動搜尋並取回儲存在系統中的所有密碼、序號和產品金鑰。
- Manual recovery (手動取回)：指定目錄 (即資料夾) 進行檔案搜尋及相關登錄檔搜尋來取回密碼和序號。
- Server emulation (伺服器模擬)：首先執行電子郵件軟體或 FTP 軟體，然後開啟各該軟體的帳戶設定 (即存放使用者帳戶和密碼的地方) 並將伺服器位址改為 127.0.0.1，記得 POP3、SMTP 和 FTP 的 port 必須分別為 110、25 和 21，然後開始連線接收郵件或連到 FTP 伺服器，想當然耳一定會連線失敗，此時 recALL 就可以擷取到帳號密碼。記得要將伺服器位址改回原來正確的 IP。
自動取回方式需要經過一段時間的搜尋、掃瞄，但幾乎可以取回儲存在系統中的所有密碼、序號和產品金鑰。不過，Windows 作業系統以及 Office 和 Acrobat 等應用程式的序號和金鑰會立即找到並顯示在已取回密碼清單中。若您已找到想要的密碼或序號，可按 Cancel 鍵取消搜尋。如果您想要將已取回密碼清單匯出存檔，可按 Next 鍵，recALL 可讓您將密碼資料匯出為 CSV 檔、純文字檔、HTML 檔或 ZIP 壓縮檔。
